¹³ Hannah was praying in her heart so that only her lips were moving, her voice could not be heard. Eli, therefore, thought that she was drunk. ¹⁴ He said to her, “How long are you going to stay drunk? Get rid of your wine!” ¹⁵ Hannah answered, “Oh no, my lord! I am a woman who is deeply troubled. I have not been drinking either wine or liquor. I have been pouring out my soul to the Lord.
